When you use the calculator, we store the information you provide (postcode, home type, energy bill, etc.) along with the calculated results. This data is associated with a randomly generated assessment ID — not with your identity unless you submit a quote request.

Quote Request Information

If you request quotes, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number. This information is used solely to connect you with relevant installers.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not use cookies or track you across websites. We collect aggregate, anonymised usage data (page views, calculator completion rates) to improve the tool.

How We Use Your Data

• Generate personalised energy savings recommendations
• Connect you with installers when you request quotes
• Send you your results and quote confirmation via email
• Improve the accuracy and usefulness of our calculator
• Aggregate anonymised data for insights (e.g., regional energy efficiency trends)

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share your contact information with installers when you explicitly request quotes, and only for the specific upgrade type you selected. Installers are required to handle your information in accordance with Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies

WattSwitch does not use tracking cookies. We may use essential cookies for site functionality (e.g., session management), but no third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Data Retention

Calculator results are retained to allow you to return to your assessment via the results URL. Lead information is retained for up to 2 years for customer support and follow-up purposes. You may request deletion at any time.
